Hi, I'm Peter Kirk. Husband, Father, Sermo CEO and Cancer Survivor
I was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic and received a life-saving bone marrow transplant at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center on June 9, 2021. Determined to build back the physical endurance I lost while lying in a hospital bed intubated and unconscious, I trained for and finished the NYC Marathon five months post-transplant.
My transformation from patient to survivor simply could not have happened without the crucial medical research that has advanced the science of bone marrow transplantation.
So, my mission now is to empower and inspire others and push the limits of what’s possible. Together with my company Sermo and 5,000+ physicians, we’re creating the first-ever global, connected event – “Run with Peter” – to raise money for medical research.
I am asking select leaders in the pharma community who are creating miracles – including you – to help us reach our goal of raising at least $2M of life-saving research funds. Sermo is donating the initial $250,000 to kick things off – so only $1,750,000 to go ;)
And now the big question – how will the funds be allocated? Doctors will tell us which areas of medical research are most important to them and then vote with their feet – the more distance covered by those who support the same cause, the more funds it will receive.
You donate. We donate. Doctors run.
Together, we move medicine forward. Let’s run for research!
